Okay, the William Kamkwamba story genuinely gets me every time — a teenager in Malawi, during a famine, taught himself how to build a windmill out of scrap materials using library books, and ended up bringing electricity and water pumping to his family's farm. No YouTube tutorials, no online course, just actual library books and pure stubborn ingenuity. As someone who leans on the internet constantly for basically everything I learn, it's humbling to think about how much he figured out with way fewer resources than I've ever had to work with. 'The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind' turned his story into something that's inspired readers everywhere, and honestly it should — it's proof that curiosity and persistence can outperform access sometimes, even though access obviously matters too and I don't want to romanticize scarcity. I just think about him whenever I complain about slow wifi. Dude built a windmill from junk parts and a library card. Respect.
