I'm a gym teacher and coach, but I've got a lot of respect for the folks doing the unglamorous work of building the actual playbook everybody else runs from — that's what Hilda Taba did for education, developing a curriculum model that's apparently still taught today in programs that train new teachers, decades after her career. That's a legacy with real staying power, the kind of foundational contribution that quietly shapes how every teacher after her actually does the job, without most people ever knowing her name. It reminds me of the coaches who developed the drills the rest of us still run without crediting where they came from. I coach fifteen years now and I know how much of what I do was built by people before me who never got a banner hung for it. Taba's the kind of figure whose actual impact is way bigger than her name recognition, which honestly describes most of the people who really build something that lasts. Real foundational players rarely get the highlight reel, but the whole game runs on their work.
