Alistair Overeem held championships across multiple major combat sports organizations, which as someone who gets nervous doing five minutes of comedy in front of forty people at a bar, is a level of composure under pressure I genuinely cannot fathom. Being elite in kickboxing and MMA both means mastering two overlapping but distinct skill sets well enough to be the best in the world at each, which is basically like being a great stand-up and a great sketch performer at the same time — related, but the muscles you use are not quite identical. I bombed a set in Dallas earlier this year badly enough that I wrote about it for a week straight, and my version of getting back in the ring is showing up to another open mic; his version apparently involved actual competition at the highest level, repeatedly, across multiple organizations. I have a lot of respect for anyone whose "bad night at work" has objectively higher stakes than mine, and multiple championship belts suggest he handled those nights just fine.
