Adriana Trigiani writes best-selling, warm, character-driven fiction, and I'll be honest, novels aren't usually my department — give me a sports documentary over a book most days — but "warm and character-driven" is basically the whole coaching philosophy I try to run my program on too, just with a whistle instead of a pen. Building characters people actually care about, over book after book, across a whole career, takes the same kind of consistency I look for in an athlete: showing up and doing the work reliably, not just having one flash of brilliance and coasting on it. I respect anybody who's found a lane, built real skill in it, and then kept delivering in that lane for years without losing what made it good in the first place. That's harder than it looks from the outside, in writing same as in basketball. Trigiani's clearly put in the reps on her craft long enough that "best-selling" isn't luck, it's a track record built one book at a time.
